Puglisi Consulting reviews AI work it did not build and does not sell. The firm is not a vendor, and its only interest is protecting the client’s investment. That independent oversight once covered events, campaigns, and business initiatives, and it now covers AI.
How Engagements Run
Basil C. Puglisi serves as advisor on every review. The client sends the material, and Basil reviews it and returns written findings. An advisory session then walks through what those findings mean for the next decision.
Reviews run remotely by default, and advisory sessions run 60 to 90 minutes, in person or by video. Long days, or commitments of more than two days in a row, are not available at this time.
Advisory Reviews
Six Reviews
Each review starts from a question leadership is already asking and ends with written findings it can act on.
AI Governance and Liability Audit
How do we evaluate our AI governance and liability?
Basil serves as third-party auditor, reviewing the controls, records, and decision points behind an organization’s AI use against the NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001. The audit examines who decides at each point where AI shapes an outcome, what record each decision leaves, and where liability attaches when that record is thin. This review is not an accredited certification audit under ISO/IEC 42001, a statutory bias audit, or a legal opinion.

AI Strategy and Readiness Review
Does this AI plan make sense for our business?
Before money moves, the plan gets an independent AI readiness assessment against the facts it rests on and the outcomes it promises to measure.

AI Deployment and Agent Review
What went wrong with our deployment?
The review compares what was promised with what was delivered and finds where the deployment broke from its own plan. It covers the AI agents given access to company data and processes.

AI Recovery and Remediation Review
How do we recover from a bad deployment?
After a failed rollout, the review sets out what to keep, what to stop, and which decisions need a named owner before work resumes.

AI Literacy and Workforce Review
Can our people direct, challenge, verify, and own the work they do with AI?
The review measures the governance competence of staff who use AI and tests the training program against the AI literacy duty in EU AI Act Article 4.

Independence Rule
Puglisi Consulting does not review a program it also designs or fixes for the same client. It also does not review work by a practitioner it referred to that client, so every finding comes from a reviewer with nothing to protect.
The Handoff
An advisory review often ends with work Puglisi Consulting does not perform itself. When that happens, Basil hands the client to a practitioner whose work he knows firsthand, so the client starts with someone already qualified. The two examples below show how that handoff works in public relations and in social media and AI.
Example: Public Relations
Bill Corbett Jr., President, Corbett Public Relations, Inc. (corbettpr.com)
Bill Corbett Jr. leads Corbett Public Relations, a Long Island firm focused on media relations, crisis communications, and personal branding. He and Basil have worked together for more than fourteen years, and Bill was part of the Digital Ethos team. When a review shows the gap is media, reputation, or a message that has to reach the press, Basil hands that work to Bill.
Example: Social Media and AI
Melonie Dodaro, LinkedIn Strategist

Melonie Dodaro presented at SMAC, the Social Mobile Analytics Content Summit that Basil ran at NYXPO in the Javits Center. Years later she served as Subject Matter Contributor to HAIA-SMART, the Social Media AI Rating Tool, and her LinkedIn testing shaped how it scores social posts. She is the author of LinkedIn Unlocked. When a review shows the gap is LinkedIn presence or social content, Basil hands that work to Melonie.
