At some point very early in your newborns life, you’ll turn to your partner and say something like ‘Oh, we need more ____ from the store next time you go by’. And inevitably, their reply will be something similar to ‘No way! We’re out of those already???’. You probably had the same thought yourself when you noticed you needed to restock.
Top 3 Items You’ll Go through with a Newborn Baby
So, what items do you go through the most with a newborn baby. Well, there’s certainly the most obvious.
Diapers
Whether you go the disposable or cloth route, you’ll have a huge need for a constant stream of clean diapers. This is why you’ll see smart moms bringing a couple bags to every baby shower. This is just how it is. Baby’s poop, often. Every bit of milk they drink? It’s filling up those diapers one way or another. Most important, changing those diapers often keeps your baby more comfortable and definitely more free of diaper rash and skin irritations. This also leads to the next item on the list.
Wipes
Even though you’ll need a ton of these before your child is potty trained, mothers today definitely have it lucky. When my boys were babies the flimsy things they called baby wipes were fairly useless used less than 3 at a time. And while I have noticed that the Huggies One and Done wipes are super great on the thickness end, you’ll still go through 3 to 5 per change on those dirty diapers. Fortunately, Baby wipes are very cheap and if you look around for 5 minutes online, you’ll find a coupon that makes them even cheaper.
Breast Pads
You’ll need these in your bra at night. You’ll need them in there during the day. You’ll need to replace these often, especially in the first few weeks. You will use these like they are definitely going out of style. Go ahead and stock up pre-birth and you’ll be set for a bit, but don’t be surprised if several boxes disappear within the first week. Does Costco do Nursing Pads? Better check them out.
While there are so many more items you’ll need to get through the first few months of your baby’s life. These three are the top noted for always cropping up on the shopping list. The Costco thing isn’t really a joke. If you can buy these items en masse, I suggest you do, if only for your sanity in having to fly to the store every 20 minutes for one of them.
