Pick your own pumpkins, apples, grapes, peppers, pears, plums, other fruits, corn, eggplant, squash, tomatoes, beans, and other vegetables through October, 9am-4pm daily. Little Play Village, animal visiting, and indoor hay bale maze on-site. Country store and bakery with fruits and vegetables, homemade doughnuts, honey, preserves, old-fashioned candy, refreshments, and local dairy farm ice cream. Picnic area available; train rides on weekends. $3 admission fee per person. Seasonal pick-your-own passes available for $10.

Pick your own pumpkins daily, and apples and raspberries on weekends through October. Open 7am-6pm daily except Mondays. Tractor-drawn hayrides, free corn maze, and horse-drawn hayrides on weekends. Farm market with pre-picked homegrown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, apple cider and doughnuts, local maple syrup and honey, ice cream, flower garden, and more on-site.
Picking your own pumpkins sure is fun but it’s far from the only family fun and activity that you can find in the NYC Metro area this fall season.

Great for groups (you can buy tickets in advance for specific dates and times) and younger children: This haunted house offers family days, when costumed guides provide tours of the house with the lights on and without spooky noises. Bring your camera for a memorable post-tour photo with your guide!
Harbes Family Farm

The corn maze at this farm is Robin Hood-themed: You’ll find archery and sword-fighting equipment in it that will help you on your way to defeat the Sherriff’s Champion. Your kids will delight in meeting the characters that guide you in your travels, which should take about 35 minutes to complete.
The Haunted Mansion of Melville

Those with young children can visit the daytime corn maze on Schmitt’s Family Farm; older kids who scare less easily should opt for Schmitt’s Haunt, which offers a mansion, stage show, and nighttime corn maze. All are haunted by a doctor who ‘lives’ at the farm, who became possessed after given a book of ancient texts by a former patient.

The Oyster Festival Free
Oct. 17 – 18, Saturday-Sunday, 11am-6pm
Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park, West End Avenue, Oyster Bay, NY
Live entertainment, tall ships, top-notch artisans, pirate shows, midway rides, and the iconic oyster eating and shucking contest. Volunteer chefs and culinary pros work side by side at the food court, cooking and serving dozens of unique oysters, clams, and other seafood concoctions, along with traditional festival fare.

Fall Festival Open House Free

Rock Hall Country Fair Free

Claws, Paws, and Scales Pet Education and Adoption Fair Free

Mineola Public Library, 195 Marcellus Road, Mineola, NY
Local animal rescue organizations such as North Shore Animal League, Forgotten Friends of Long Island, All About Cats, The Long Island Parrot Society and more will attend with animals looking for their “fur-ever” homes! We will also have “take and make” crafts for the kids, a tattoo station, and face painting for the kids from 11-1pm. Please do not bring personal pets to this fair.

Halloween Fun Festival Free
