There are quite a few milestones and moment’s you’re going to want to get into your pregnancy scrapbook or memories album. So if you’ve just found out you’re pregnant, let’s get down to business on what you need to start.
Pregnancy Memories that Should Make Your Scrapbook
We sure are lucky with all of the technology we have in this day and age that allows us to save and share our memories in a large variety of ways. Here are a few of those ideas you should consider memorializing for yours!
Pregnancy Test – While you may not want to save the test itself, you can always take a photo of it in a creative setting, or a picture of dad’s face when he’s reading it, to memorialize this particular moment in your baby’s life!
First Doctor’s Appointment – Keep your appointment card and stuff it into that scrapbook too. It will be an interesting talking piece later on.
Belly Measurements – Grab yourself a soft tape measure and record your belly measurements from the bottom of your chest bone to the top of your pubic bone. Record them periodically and later on you can show your child how big your belly got by holding that tape measure in the same measurements as during your pregnancy. They make some cute items for this now, one is called the Mommy Measure.
Sonograms – There are so many new awesome ways to get your sonograms recorded now. You can get the 3D options that show you so much detail you’ll be weepy! You can also have the entire sonogram session recorded to watch later with family and friends. Make sure you add this item to your scrapbook! You can always put the photos or videos on a small USB storage device and snap it into your photo album with a pretty and creative backdrop.
Baby Talk – You don’t need a special occasion during your pregnancy to journal a bit to your baby. Perhaps you had a special conversation you want them to know about later on. Maybe you just spent the day shopping for items for your new baby and want to journal it into a creative copy into the scrapbook.
Cravings Notes – Mark your cravings as they change throughout the pregnancy. During my first pregnancy I absolutely craved, nonstop, anything banana flavored. My oldest claims he hates bananas because of it. With my youngest, I drank milk constantly, we now brag about how strong his bones are! Perhaps not always scientifically accurate, but great family conversation starters forever.
Preparing for Birth – Memorialize all of those birth plan moments. Did you complete any classes? Scrapbook those course awards! Take photos of the items you’re putting in your hospital bag as well as the outfit you plan for baby’s ride home.
There’s Always Blogging – If a scrapbook isn’t going to be enough for you, digital Momma-in-the-making that you are, there’s always blogging to mark and journal throughout your pregnancy. Honestly, don’t we all wish we could read our mother’s deepest thoughts she felt while she carried us? I know I would and if this was around when my pregnancies were, I know I’d probably have blogged my little heart out about it. If that’s your cup of tea too, here are a few helpful tips on how to start a pregnancy blog, things you should share on your blog, and how to maintain a successful pregnancy blog.
